I really loved Colin Trevorrow‘s first film Safety Not Guaranteed and thought he was a great choice to direct Jurassic World. So about a month after seeing Jurassic World I heard from the producers of his 3rd film, The Book of Henry, about creating a chain reaction machine for the movie (it’s featured heavily in the trailer above).
I had the pleasure of working alongside Naomi Watts and the very talented young actors Jaeden Lieberher and Jacob Tremblay.
The movie was written by Gregg Hurwitz and produced by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Double Nickel Entertainment (I can’t say enough about how great Jenette Kahn and Adam Richman are), and executive produced by Sue Baden-Powell. John Schartzman was Director of Photography and made everything look terrific. It also stars Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Sarah Silverman, Lee Pace (Guardians of the Galaxy, Halt and Catch Fire), and Bobby Moynihan (SNL). I’m dropping so many names it’s ridiculous.
I also want to give a shout out to Fred Buchholz who did the SFX and went out of his way to help me wherever he could, as well as Josh Roth, the prop master. I really needed all the help I could get deep in the woods of Nanuet NY!
The Book of Henry is the opening film of the 2017 Los Angeles Film Festival.
